Working with graphical objects

Postby D.E.N. » Tue May 21, 2013 10:50 pm

Hello,

I need to use the indicator to save all the elements (labels, lines) related to the current chart to a file. Is there a way to search for elements(labels, lines) on the chart?

MQL4 has a group of functions intended for working with graphical objects related to the current chart. (http://docs.mql4.com/en/objects). Is there something similar in FXCM?

Thanks in advance.

Hi D.E.N.,

No, unfortunately there is no possibility for lua files to search the elements on the chart.

Another question.
When drawing the different elements on the chart with the indicator (using the command core.host:execute("drawLine", ...)), all these elements are in one piece, what makes it impossible to edit as a single item.
Is it possible to create individual elements on the chart with the indicator?

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure what exactly you are trying to do.
If you would like to have the ability to manually select some line drawn by the indicator and then remove it or resize it by mouse, there is no ability to do it.
Could you please clarify your question?

sunshine, you understand my problem correctly.
Yes, I would like to know whether it is possible to manually select and edit some line drawn by the indicator.
Thank you very much for the answer.
