Strategy initiates trading only sometimes

Hi

I have created a simple MACD strategy that initiates a trade when the signal and MACD lines cross. It works well when I backtest and optimise it using Trading Station 2. However, when I implement the strategy for automated trading it does not always initiate a trade when it should.

Is this a common problem caused by differences in the backtesting process compared to the automated trading process and is there a way to fix it.
