Data INSANITY!

Postby Bebbspoke » Thu Oct 27, 2016 1:03 pm

Hi Folks; -
I'm absolutely astounded by the inconsistency in data sourcing...

If one downloads history from a TS2 Marketscope graph to Excel (as .xml) -

Col A is Date & Tme,
Col B thru E are OHLC ASK prices and Col F thru I are OHLC BID prices... and any subsequent Cols are user optional data.

but... If one downloads history from "Get History Prices" (as .csv) -

Col A is Date & Tme; - sure - this agrees...
but
Col B thru E are OHLC BID prices and Col F thru I are OHLC ASK prices!!!

What the blazes is FXCM playing at??? - it is difficult enough to analyse historic data to predict future Market events etc. etc... I appreciate that the historic data downloads are free but surely there is no need for FXCM to obfuscate and lay traps for the analytic trader?

Sincerely, Berbbspoke ~ (an exceeding agrieved analytic trader...).

Hello Bebbspoke,

but... If one downloads history from "Get History Prices" (as .csv)

Could you please clarify what you mean by "Get History Prices"?
Did you mean ForexConnect or something else?

Hi Georgiy; -

For "Get History Prices" I refer to the data as received using "GetHistPricesGUI.exe"

as is installed via "GetHistPricesGUI-1.0.0-win32_WithLoginErrorFix.exe"

Thank you,

Hello,

If it's important for your analysis we can change the order of columns in CSV which GetHistPricesGUI utility produces to this one:

DateTime;AskOpen;AskHigh;AskLow;AskClose;BidOpen;BidHigh;BidLow;BidClose;Volume

Have I understood your request correctly?

Hello Alexey; -

It is now TOO LATEfor FXCodebase to again change the supplied irrational data sequencing...

as many other analysts have downloaded the GetHistPricesGUI....exe which is inconsistent to data as may be downloaded via Marketscope.

What is important is that all analysts & traders are made aware of such inconsistency

Thank you,
