Degree of certainty of the ticks in backtesting

Postby Kilgharrah » Wed Jan 25, 2017 7:56 am

If I have a strategy with a 90% effectiveness in backtesting (example), how reliable is this result in the real market price ?. My biggest concern is because of the way the ticks of a candle are generated in a minute (in the backtesting), these are quite close to reality ?.

My strategy that percentage could be wrong in the real market?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

Ultimate test will be the demo account testing.
As you know tick changes are simulated.
