Rest API vs FXCM (LUA) - Execution time

Postby Daveatt » Fri Dec 07, 2018 6:38 am

Hi there

I'm developing a scalping strategy in LUA. Sometimes, trades are not executed (maybe because of internet connection, laptop being slow, etc)
I was wondering however if developing a strategy using the Rest API could speed up the trades execution time
Is there any advantage of using the Rest API vs the FXCM/LUA regarding this matter ?

Thanks

In this case you should get some error.

Generally no, they are sent to the same middleware.

Thanks Konstantin

True in most cases. However, sometimes stop are not taken because of slippage - I guess there isn't much that I can do here

Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for this
