Bar codes

Postby mrskbrook » Sun Jun 06, 2010 8:04 am

I use a system where I look for "Up" (bars that open in the bottom 1/3 and close in the top 1/3 of the overall range), and "Down" bars (bars that open in the top 1/3 and close in the bottom 1/3 of the overall range) and I was wondering if someone could somehow develop a code for that, basically I need the "Up" bars to be colored Blue the "Down" bars to be colored red and all the rest to be some other color that stands out against black on marketscope

This task is interesting and simple.
I am interested what are you, consider range is.
Can I for example use Bollinger Bands?

I hope that the current algorithm fits your needs.

The indicator shows the candle that are open / closed in the lower third of the Range,
closed / open in the upper third of the Range.

The algorithm seeks the maximum and minimum of the period as a starting point for the calculation.

The period can be changed.

This version supports Bollinger Bands algorithm.
Requires BB-percentages indicator.

I consider range from the high to the low of the candle now I'm relatively new to forex and I'm not the smartest person so can you explain in simple terms what a period is, is it a period of time, what?

Thanks for the explanation, I will write the required indkator tomorrow.

Periods or the number of candle, the same thing.
The period is the time frame in which the indicator is calculated.

As I was not entirely clear what you are looking for.
I created an algorithm that have the High and Low for the Time frame as a starting point.

I need to make only minor alterations,
in order to allow the indicator, set the value of Period, to 1
