Triggs Tracking Signal

Postby AussieOz » Sun Aug 29, 2010 2:56 am

Hi,

I am hoping you can write code for the Triggs Tracking Signal.
I have built the logic into EXCEL - please see the attached.

The challenge is that there are a number of cells that require inputs before the formulae kick in.

There are two signals, a fast in red and a slow one in blue. Both fluctuate between +1 and -1.

Thank you,

MikeB

Requested indicator can be found here.

I have not found a web reference to this indicator.
Please check the validity of the formula used.

Thank you for reverting so quickly.

I've checked the indicator and it looks good. It works well with Currencies and Commodities - showing the value of the fast and slow lines with decimal point details.

The only issue is with respect to indices. For some reason the fast and slow values are only 1 or 0.
This will make it difficult to manage trading rules but I'm not sure whether you can fix it?

FYI - Trigg was an operations research consultant who developed a formula for the Kodak company in 1964 to define when a process is operating in or out of control limits. I have wanted to test this on the markets for over a decade - hence my considerable appreciaton for your great work.

Cheers,

MikeB
