Hi

Would it be possible please to create a Stop Loss Strategy that uses a moving average for the exit, the rules would be as follows:-

Rules
For a Short example (opposite for Long) the price is moving down and is +40 pips in profit and is trading below a 10 SMA, when an "UP" bar closes back over the 10 SMA the trade is exited.

Variables
1) Choose MA Period (10, 20 etc)
2) Choose MA Type ( SMA, EMA etc)
3) Choose MA Close Type ( Close, Median etc)
4) Choose Minimum amount in profit before close is allowed (+30 etc)
5) Choose Time frame to be used for MA (M15, H1 etc)

Thanks

Hi

I tried this strategy again today and its still not working as intended.

In your description of how it functions, you wrote:-
"Short Trade
Close trade X pips in profit
On Price /MA CrossOver
Vice versa for Long"

This is all correct except where you have the word "crossover" it should be followed by the word CLOSE. ie crossing over the MA alone is not sufficient to exit the trade, it should only exit the trade if a bar CROSSES and CLOSES over the MA.

Would be great if it could be amended to reflect this rule.

Many Thanks
