Zigzag Retracement

Postby arfs9090 » Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:22 am

Apprentice
Can I request a strategy that would scan timeframes for this pattern and required retracement this is not a strategy where it needs to identifies same pattern on multiple timeframe in same direction just simply needs to identify the pattern and retracement condition for EG: pattern could create signal for sell on 4Hr and long on 15min. would need 5 timeframe to scan for the condition

Done!
It's better to run 5 instances that 1 instance of 5 timeframes inside.

Aprenntice
I was on the understanding that this strategy/ scan alert would scan up to 5 timeframes at same time alert when one of the selected timeframe created pattern and retracement condition, it was never ment to auto trade more of strategy alert. I have backtest on multiple timeframe and most end with very poor results. Be able to select 5 timeframe at same time and if you add a filter for Lower high lower low close for shorts and Higher low higher high close for long when reaches retracement condition. Have a Reversal pattern if you can incorporate can post rules and setting, requested strategy rules as indicator alerts only come through if you are watching that currency pair if can not be done as a stratgey I have some rules for a combined Trend Continuation and Revesal Indicator
Thank you for all work gone into this

In previous post was ment to explain that using only one timeframe over a period was less profitable than using multiple timeframe over same period for same pattern

Apprentice I have taken on board what you said and you was right sorry for the doubt  , is it possible to add some filters in the way of the AFBSR breakout once the higher timeframe has retrace to its condition then wait for a breakout on lower timeframe if we can have option for break & close on Higher or Lower timeframe with a condition candle to be 80% filled in the paremeters settings and if you can add a % TP 1 at 45% and TP 2 at 145% and SL at 20% data would be taken from lower timeframe as have tried ATR for TP and SL and always get bad results. Question on a single or multi timrframe strategy what timeframe is the ATR Profit Take and Stop Loss taken from? As per Screenshot from the original higher timeframes showing short and long set up the lower timeframe hopefully explains what filters needed to add
Thanks in advance
