ZigZag False Breakout Reversal

Hi Apprentice Hope all is well,

Rules for the false breakout if can be combined into same strategy with Breakout

Reverse Break & Close back into previous zigzag structure with SSD Above 50% (K Below D line) on higher timeframe and Volume Price Change Below signal line for shorts &
Reverse Break & Close back into previous zigzag structure with SSD Below 50% (K above D line) on higher timeframe with Volume Price Change Above signal line for long.
Enter on close of candle.
Can have option to bump up SSD t-frame as per screen shot 15min chart using 1Hr SSD data
Not mentioned on the breakout rules the K Below D line for shorts & K above D line for longs
thanks so much for all the work you do on this forum

Apprentice & Development team can you let me know if this topic is going to be done? as was given a development list number of 4550 last month and I see that you are on 4591. If you can do that would be great if your not able to do can you post or message.
Breakout and False Breakout combined bumped up timeframe on SSD and Volume Price Change
Thanks Kelly

I'll try, I can not promise anything.
The development team independently chooses their tasks.

Hi Apprentice, Great job :P

Not sure if I made it clear in ZigZag breakout but mentioned in False Breakout Reversal K line need to be above D line for longs and K line to below D line for shorts
ZigZag Breakout parameters
K line needs to be above the D line at 50% or lower % on SSD for longs
K line needs to be below the D line at 50% or higher % on SSD for shorts

and if can have a separate percentage parameters box for false breakout
ZigZag False Breakout parameters
K line needs to be above the D line at 20% or lower % on SSD for longs
K line needs to be below the D line at 80% or higher % on SSD for shorts

Not sure if it’s to do with the SSD setting, when back testing and forward testing not getting signals when breakout happens. When the SSD is lower than 50% K line above D line and same with the short when SSD is higher than 50% and K line is below D line seems to be only getting signals when at that percentage, the percentage is a minimum % requirement,
In addition, if you can label breakout on the current box SSD buy/sell % levels and false breakout SSD buy/sell % levels on the one to be added. Both patterns are being used as trend continuation.

Thanks so much for all work already done
Kelly

Done! But I don't understand about false breakouts. Basically, the
logic is the same but the levels are different? Why not use two
instances of the strategy for that? Or do you need two entry
conditions (and enable/disable them in the parameters)?

:D Hi, Apprentice and the new update have made a great difference thanks :D
As well as the SSD levels being different the entry conditions are, On the breakout we wait for the breakout, on the false breakout we don’t need to wait for breakout as the condition is met doing false breakout and we can get in the trade much earlier as per screenshot it never broke to downside and would have not got a signal to trade short

ZigZag False Breakout parameters
K line needs to be above the D line at 20% or lower % on SSD for longs
K line needs to be below the D line at 80% or higher % on SSD for shorts
Hope that clarifies
