RENKO CHART view with future brick preview

Postby Sheera123 » Mon Apr 22, 2019 10:13 am

Hi,

Can you please create or add a feature to an existing RENKO chart view as follows:

- I am currently using the "RENKO_CANDLES_ NEW" chart view.
- In this chart view, new bricks are not drawn until the end of the selected time frame (i.e. 30m).
- Would it be possible to draw, in real time, those un-drawn bricks as imaginary or preview bricks in a different colour (user selectable).
- The imaginary or preview brick size will change linearly relative to the current price and become complete imaginary bricks after they've exceeded the selected brick size.
- At the end of the selected time frame all the imaginary bricks will become real bricks except for the last one if it's not complete, it will remain imaginary and continue into the next time frame.

I have seen this feature on an MT4 chart, but I don't remember the name. I have included a marked up screen shot of the "RENKO_CANDLES_ NEW" chart
to give a visual example of the idea.

Thanks in advance,

Shawn H.

Hi Apprentice,

I just tried it out and I noticed two major problems.

1 - When the bricks are changing direction (from RED to BLUE) I noticed the future bricks are being drawn in the in the opposite direction of price. To observe this quickly, set the brick size to 1 on the 1min chart. This continues even after a series of blue bricks have been formed.

2- When the bricks are changing direction (from Blue to Red) the 1st brick is drawn in the wrong place (beside the last brick).

Also, the future bricks are not being painted with the selected color, it's slightly different.
