MA Cross Over with HTF Conformation

Postby Kelly123 » Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:08 am

Hi Apprentice & Team,
Is it possible to code MA (selection of moving averages) crossover but have a MA close above for long and below for shorts on a higher timeframe, no alerts till both conditions are met on both timeframes
Also to have MA on the crossover timeframe to exit when price closed against trade and to be alerted
Can you also code to alert when to re-enter on the close of the fast MA if the conditions met on the MA cross over timeframe and the higher timeframe close of MA
Thanks Kelly

Hey Guys,
Not sure if you understood what I wanted. It’s the a moving average cross over on one timeframe and a close of a moving average on the higher timeframe biased to the ma cross over timeframe (unlike in V1 seems there are two MA cross over. Also the ENTRY TIMEFRAME does not have a selection of time frame (drop down box) unlike the HIGHER TIMEFRAME option
Also to have MA on the crossover timeframe to exit when price closed against trade and to be alerted
Can you also code to alert when to re-enter on the close of the fast MA if the conditions met on the MA cross over timeframe and the higher timeframe close of MA
Parameters Setting
MA time frame
Time (Selection of time frames)
Fast (Selection of ma)
Slow (Selection of ma)
Exit (Selection of ma)
Re=Enter (Selection of ma)
Higher time conformation
Time (Selection of time frames)
Hope this helps
Kelly

I don't understand the requirements.
So, we should have two timeframes: TF1 and TF2
Entry rules:
- MA1/TF1 should cross MA2/TF1
- ??? close MA? on TF2???. What that does mean? Currently, we check MA1/TF2 > or < MA1/TF2
Exit rules:
- Also to have MA on the crossover timeframe to exit when price closed against trade and to be alerted???? What that does mean? Currently, we check direction of the candle. When the price goes down we do close long positions and vice versa.

Additional rule:
- Can you also code to alert when to re-enter on the close of the fast MA if the conditions met on the MA cross over timeframe and the higher timeframe close of MA. Don't understand that part at all

Hey Apprentice
I don't understand the requirements.
So, we should have two timeframes: TF1 and TF2?
Yes x2 timeframes MA Cross Over and Higher time frame confo x2 MA on TF1 and x1 on TF2
Entry rules:
- MA1/TF1 should cross MA2/TF1
- ??? close MA?
YES
The rules are for TF1 to do MA cross over then TF2 to close biased to TF1 ma crossover (above for long & below for short (there is only one MA on the HTF) to the TF1 ma cross over on TF2???.
Can we have a separate MA label exit and one for re-enter in the parameter settings

Hi Apprentice & Team,
We need x2 timeframes
TF1 Should have x2 MA (Selection) when fast crosses slow condition met on TF1
TF2 Should have x1 MA (Selection) when fast crosses slow on TF1 for then also price close biased to TF1 ma cross over and biased to TF2 MA
For example,
TF1 fast crosses above slow TF2 Price closed above tf2 MA = entry for long
TF1 fast crosses below slow TF2 Price closed below tf2 MA = entry for short

And the re-entry part is if the Higher timeframe is already biased to a long set up where price is above higher timeframe on tf2 and price is in between the fast and slow on tf1 to get alerted on the close above the fast as conditions met on all Timeframes and vice versa for shorts
Hope this helps
Season Greetings
Kelly
