Position Manager

Postby spinemaligna » Thu Jul 02, 2020 6:26 am

Hi Apprentice,

I made a recent request to convert Trade Manager to MT4 but this proves impossible. So to use Trade Manager I am tied to Marketscope. So I am wondering if it is possible to produce a .lua app with the following inputs.
Symbol
Account Equity
Risk %age of Equity
Entry type Instant/Pending
Entry Value
Stop Loss
Value
Fixed number of pips
ATR
Take Profit
Value
Multiplier of S/L Pips
ATR

ATR Settings
Period
S/L Multiplier
T/P Multiplier
Lines
Show Lines Y/N
Entry line Colour
Size
Type
S/L line Colour
Size
Type
T/P Line Colour
Size
Type

If this is possible would it be compatible with Trade Manager?
I attach the EX4 file that I use on MT4 as a guide.

Thanks

Ross

We can not read EX4,
can you provide MQ4 or detailed description?

Firstly there is no MQ4 file available.
The settings are as detailed as above.
You enter your account size, what risk you take and whether it is a pending or instant order. You set your entry level (if pending) and your stop loss by which ever option as detailed. The app will calculate the stop and take profit levels and position size using whichever system you have selected. When you have entered all the necessary inputs there should be a Go button which will enter you into the trade either immediately, if instant, or set a market order as appropriate.
It is harder to describe than to operate.
The other inputs are cosmetic enabling you to set colours etc.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your efforts Apprentice,

I have loaded the first version and have found a few problems.

1. It doesn't show the lot size to open as per risk, stop loss, and account value calculation.
2. It doesn't allow pending/instant orders to be placed.
3. There is no ATR period input parameter.
4. Not sure if the ATR Stop/Limit calculation is correct as changing the multiplier parameter has
no effect on the displayed lines.
5. It would be great if the ability to drag S/L and T/P values could be incorporated.
6. It needs the ability to actually place Instant/ Pending orders.

I think all these points were in my original and follow up posts.
Once again thanks for all your efforts.
