32 bit OS X binaries

Postby El Patron » Wed Mar 30, 2016 10:37 am

I can't find any 32 bit binaries for OS X for the Price History API on http://fxcodebase.com/wiki/index.php/Do ... istory_API. Are there none?

Thanks

Hi El Patron,

Unfortunately, we don’t support 32 bit versions of Price History for OS X. Could you please explain your purpose?

Thank you.

Hi Julia,
I am linking the libraries with another 32 bit trading application, which I have no control over, so 64 bit is unfortunately not an option.

I was aiming to use Price History API basically for all the reasons mentioned on http://fxcodebase.com/wiki/index.php/Wh ... ach_API%3F:
- Live + historical tick data
- Latest (today's) data
- Large volumes, frequent pulls, etc.

I am still new to these APIs, so I may be able to accomplish the same through ForexConnect, but would just have been convenient to follow the sample code in Price History.

May I know if there is any technical reason why the 32 bit version isn't supported for OS X?

Thanks

Hi El Patron,

We considered all OS X actual models to be 64 bit, so 32 bit version of libraries is not needed. Your situation is a case when it may be.Therefore, in the next API version we’ll add supporting of 32 bit libraries for OS X. We can do it in about a month.

Thank you.

That's brilliant! Thanks a lot Julia.

FYI the application I use is the free 32bit version of kdb+ (https://kx.com/).
